Sophie – our official farmers market pooch

Posted on March 27th, 2013 in Uncategorized | 3 Comments

Our sweet Sohie finds her retreat every week at the Thursday morning farmers market on the VVC campus.  She has visited our market for the better part of 1o years or so.  Her weekly visit involves getting lots of hugs and petting from ALL of her favorite vendors and customers alike.  This is her special treat after she has done her best to treat the elderly that she visits every week around the valley.  She is a therapy dog and her sole purpose is to bring healing to those in much need of repair.  We love our special pooch.

  1. Very sad news……….Due to several severe health issues, not the least of which was evidence of conierable pain, a probable bleedig internal tumor and rapidly deteriorating hips, Sophie was put to “rest” at 10:30 am today (April 8). She will be missed far more than anyone might imagine and will be in our hearts forever.

Oh I am very sad and tearful. . . I know so many of our farmers, market family will truly be unhappy to know that their sweet girl will not be out for love and petting of their Sophie girl. She will be missed. In our hearts forever.

I know Sophie’s loss leaves a huge void that can never be filled in exactly the same way. I wish I could have met her. I hope the Donovan family is comforted in some small way with a girl who will bring her own unique love to the family and perhaps the community as Sophie’s legacy.
