skinny ranch dressing

by Stacey Amagrande

We all love a good ranch dressing, and what we tend to eat with the dressing is good for us, but the dressing it self is not. Thus making what could be a healthy snack, a totally fatty snack! SO here is a lower calorie version of the popular dip/dressing that I think you will enjoy. My husband " a ranch connoisseur" loves this recipe and has no idea that it is about 1/2 the calories!

You will need a good blender

Yields1 Serving
½ cup Low fat Greek yogurt
½ cup low fat sour cream ( I find non fat options lack flavor, but it is your choice!)
 juice of 1-2 lemons
 ¼ tsp garlic salt
 ¼ tsp onion powder
 ¼ cup fresh parsley
 ¼ tsp black pepper
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil, grape seed oil, safflower oil (more or less oil depending on desired thickness)
1 tbsp vinegar, use rice, red wine vinegar, or cider vinegar
2 tbsp nutritional yeast (Brewers yeast) this is a complete vitamin B complex that can be found at any health food store, and Winco has it in the bulk-baking section as well. You can leave it out too, but I love the flavor and nutritional qualities it adds.
1

Put everything in your blender, with the exception of the oil. Blend until smooth, then slowly start to drizzle in the oil to reach your desired thickness. TASTE! You may want more salt, or lemon flavor in your guilt free dressing, you may like it more pepper-y. You are in control now get in there and make it taste good!

Varieties include: fresh basil, cilantro, lime juice, chives, red pepper flake, fresh dill., Really you are ONLY limited by your imagination, use what you like to make this recipe, please share and enjoy!!!!
